Ok so this is it.. do you see the instep? It's a bit large wouldnt you agree?

I've looked at three different sock patterns to come up with this sock, can anyone suggest a way of down sizing this area of my sock? And the toe is a bit short but its for my grand daughter so it should fit her just fine.
